A good portion, if not the majority of email traffic on the internet today is spam related. The subject matter of spam emails can include discounted Viagra, inexpensive Rolex watches, a surprise inheritance and any other type of scam imaginable. If your email address is more than a few years old or even only a few months, it is inevitable the spam will find its way into your in-box. You are not without hope though. The following tips and suggestions can help alleviate the influx of spam email messages.
For personal use email, create an address that is not easily guessed by random email generators. Use a non-alpha character such as a period or an underscore. Don not post your email address on publicly accessible web pages where they then can be picked up by email scraping software. If you are signed up with one of the many free email providers, be sure to enable any provided spam filtering services. If you download your emails to an email client on your computer like Outlook or Outlook Express, consider installing spam filtering software that integrates with Outlook and other email clients.
In a business environment, email services are often hosted in house or outsourced. An organization or business may also want to standardize their email address format in a way that makes it harder for spammers to guess or discover legitimate email addresses. Another good option for organizations that have a high volume of inbound emails is to enlist with an external to the organization spam filtering gateway service. This type of service receives all inbound emails and filters it before passing it on, majority spam free, to the final destination. An alternative to an external gateway spam filtering service would be to install spam filtering capabilities internally.
Lastly, make sure to implement safe computing practices on home or work computers. Ensure that anti-spyware or antivirus software is always installed and up to date. Encourage friends and colleagues to do the same to help prevent your email address from being harvested from a contact or address list on their computers via a backdoor Trojan or virus.
As an internet marketer, coming up with email marketing ideas and how to go about executing them can be a struggle, especially if you are new. A little like being in the middle of the ocean and not knowing how to get a drink of fresh water. Don’t feel bad though, anyone who has ever started a new venture, especially one that encompasses the internet, can get overwhelmed easily….but don’t let that get you down.
You see, a big part of email marketing is NOT always knowing exactly what your results might be. Building a list, creating an audience, and then learning what “speaks” to that audience is the name of the game. You can build the biggest list in the history of mankind, but if you don’t “speak” to them…if your message doesn’t resonate, they will not respond to your email messages. So, it is not so much about quantity, but quality. Let’s face it, everybody gets deluged with so-called “legit” emails that they ignore every day, so you have to get their attention and build credibility. Good quality messaging translates as good open and click rates on your email messages.
Below are the first steps you’ll need to follow to build a healthy, responsive list that will convert well to dollars. Please, don’t do shortcuts, because you will just end up frustrating yourself and not getting the results you want. Take the time to do it right the first time, and you will see the results over time. If you don’t, you’ll just be guru-bait, looking for the next high-priced marketing guru solution to show you the way.
Research your market- Ok, I don’t even want to hear you all going “ugh”. That doesn’t mean putting on a pair of bifocals and sitting in the library all day. C’mon, you are a savvy marketer! If you want to sell to an audience (market), you don’t just want to grab a bunch of half baked PLR rehashed content and go slap it up on a website. As the saying goes, if you want to catch a fish, you have to go where they live. In internet marketing, that means finding the places your audience hangs out online; forums, websites, Facebook pages…whatever. Find what they are talking about and notice the common themes. Write 5 of them down with comments that will remind you later. Get familiar with your audiences language, what they talk about, what jargon they use, what topics they are passionate about. This is the beginning of your relationship with them, and it will help if you understand a little about who they are before you start bombarding them with emails. Get An Autoresponder- Aweber is the marketers favorite, but I find it’s flexibility limited. Constant Contact is a good one if you get a lot of verbal permission based emails that you want to enter into your database without having to have them opt-in. Aweber is not so good at this as their main premise is a high-deliverability rate, so everyone is forced to opt-in at least once. The point is here folks, pick one depending on your business and commit to learning how it works. Either way, you must learn how the reporting on your system works, and what it means in terms of how your audience is responding to your emails. If it isn’t to your liking, you need to adjust the campaign as soon as possible. However, you can’t do that if you don’t bother to learn how the reporting works and is used. Yep, that means do the tutorials…it’ll pay off, trust me. It’s The List, Stupid- You’ve probably heard this before, but it bears repeating, and here’s why. Many times people will fret about their list because they don’t have a product to sell. I say, who cares? Give your audience a compelling reason to get on your list through your squeeze page or other offer. Remember, growing your list is your sole objective, sales can take a back seat in the beginning. Remember, once you hit a “critical mass” of 500 or so opt-in’s you can begin to do Joint Venture deals with other marketers and build your list exponentially faster. Then sales will come. So building the list with a good “freebie” offer as quickly as possible will get you to that magic number of 500 quicker. Once you get there, getting bigger is much easier, because you can go to the JV well. Check out the Warrior Forum for more info.

A marketing expert has the same job description of a Public Relations Manager hence; they are responsible for advertising the company’s product and or services. However, will smaller businesses, owner or owner’s tend to devise strategies on their own as well as advertise their products and services on their own as well.
A good plan takes into account goals and objectives for the duration of the company hence, the plans put in place will primarily be for continued growth and development of a business. For each plan drafted there is a specific goal and with that goal comes ideas of how each objective will be attained. Hence, a plan keeps a company’s ‘eyes’ on the prize at all time. A marketing plan is not devised based on information from the marketing department only, it takes into account all other departments within the company as a result every area is included.
It is indeed very difficult as it relates to constructing a marketing plan; it takes a lot of thought process as well as proper planning. However, following the necessary guidelines will make it somewhat easier when a company is drafting their own marketing plan. The formation of a marketing plan does takes time as it will never happen in two to three days of planning hence, take the time a plan wisely.
